"At Bharat Vidyalay, we lay great emphasis on the overall development of the students. We aim not just for academic excellence, but also developing employability skills, problem solving attitude, an appreciation for art and confidence to express one's opinion. With this end in mind, lot of different extracurricular activities are conducted throughout the year.

  • Kaizen for improving productivity is taught through different projects. Factory visits are conducted to experience a first hand implementation of ideas in Kaizen.
  • Problem Solving is taught as a formal subject to inculcate a balanced approach towards solving problems.
  • Business Processes are taught to the students wherein students survey existing businesses, come up with their own ideas of how to do a business, actually run a business for a month and earn profit.
  • Self - defense training is conducted for adolescent girls from class 7th to 9th.
  • Participation in various district level competitions for sports including running, kho-kho, stick fighting etc is encouraged.
  • Participation in various art and craft competitions and in the Elementary and Intermediate drawing exams is encouraged"

Essay Competition

Bharat Vidyalay conducted essay competition for the students from standard 3rd to 9th.The subject for essays were given to the students 4 days prior to the competition, the following students have been selected for the prizes.

  • Group 1: (standard 3rd & 4th)
    1st prize: Miss Saba Nasir Khan
  • Group 2: (standard 5th to 7th)
    1st Prize: Miss Kavita Ashok Bodake
  • Group 3: (standard 8th & 9th)
    1st Prize: Miss Rutuja Dattatray Kumbhar
  • Elocution competition

    The school also conducted elocution competition for the students from standard 1st to 9th. The competition was conducted under 4 categories and 3 students each were selected for each category by the class teachers.

  • English day

    English day was celebrated on 4th of December 2015. The students from all classes presented English poems, dramas, songs and dialogues.

  • Independence day & Republic day

    Independence day was celebrated enthusiastically by the students. The students from std 3rd & 4th presented an English song. The students from std 5th to 7th collectively sung patriotic songs. The school celebrated the Republic day on 26th of January 2016.

  • Teachers' day

    Practical experience of teaching was given to the students of std 8th by giving them an opportunity to teach the students from std 1st to 7th. Students were informed about Dr. Radhakrishnan, Ex-President of India, on this auspicious day.

  • Science Day

    On the occasion of science day, a drama on the consequences of overusing mobile phones was shown to all the students. A science exhibition was conducted on the subject of 'SMART VILLAGE'. The students participated in the exhibition with enthusiasm. The students prepared projects on amenities of the smart village.

  • Educational Trips

    Educational trips were organised for the students from shishuwadi to class 10th in the academic year 2015-16. These trips gave new experiences to the students and it added to their knowledge pool.

    The students from std 5th & 6th visited the Mapro factory on 20th January 2016. The students were informed about the manufacturing process, products and food preservation system.

    The students from std 5th visited drinking water filtration plant to understand implementation of drinking water facility for Wai city.
