Bharat Vidyalay

  • Shree Ramkrishna Charities (SRC) is currently operating Bharat Vidyalay School in the village Shahabag near Wai in Satara District, Maharashtra State, India where free high quality education and nourishing food supplement are being offered to 314 pre-primary & primary school students.
  • The school currently operates from pre-primary to 10th standard.
  • The teaching methodology offers the latest and best teaching techniques producing excellent results.
  • All of the 314 students are from poor families; Of these 68 are from open category, 41 from minorities and 205 from reserved class.
  • The First Batch of Bharat Vidyalay passed 10th standard in march 2015 and 100% passing percentage was achieved in the SSC (State Board) exam. The average marks obtained were 82%. The second batch passed 10th standard in march 2016 and 100% passing percentage was achieved in the SSC exam. The average marks obtained were 78%

Admission Procedure

  • The procedure for admission in Bharat Vidyalay is extremely rigorous yet completely transparent. It has been designed to ensure that children from only the poorest of poor families get through.
  • The application forms for admission are made available free of cost at the school office in the month of January.
  • The duly filled application forms can be submitted at the school office till a pre-determined date. The application form requires the interested parents to declare details about their economic condition.
  • Later a surprise home visit is arranged to the homes of the applicants so as to cross check information in the form.
  • It is only when the families fit into the criteria laid down by SRC - economic status, distance the child would have to ravel to reach school etc. - that the children are admitted into Jr. K.G. (called Shishuwadi)
  • Final admission selection is unanimously approved in the Board of Trustees meeting.
